The government of Nepal once again announced the new tourism campaign ‘Visit Nepal Year 2020’ to the promotion and conserve the national natural, cultural and historical heritage with the slogan of ‘Lifetime Experiences’. The main motto of the campaign is to promote tourism in Nepal. Tourism in Nepal is not only an economic sector but also an area with massive potential.

Nepal is economically poor but is rich in its natural beauty, natural resources, and diversity, social, cultural and historical norms, values and diversity. That is the reason Nepal is a great destination for tourists. Even though the country is poor in its economy, and lacks many infrastructures, facilities, and even publicity, the country is blessed with naturally gifted natural beauty, and cultural heritage makes it an outstanding tourism destination. The Ministry of Cultural, Tourism and Civil Aviation Nepal aims to host more than two million tourists this year 2020 by enhancing worldwide publicity. The government of Nepal separates the whole campaign into five fragments to equally promote and develop. These five include People and Heritage, Culture Cities and Leisure, Religion and Pilgrimage, and Adventure and Outdoor. Internal and External visitors can visit 10 of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites scattered all around the country and can visit cultural, religious and pilgrimage sites like Kathmandu, Lumbini, Janakpur, and Pokhara. And those visitors who love adventure and outdooring can trek and hike in the Mountain region like Mount Everest or Annapurna regions.

Visit Nepal Year 2020 was inaugurated by the President of Nepal Bidya Devi Bhandari at Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on January 1, 2020. Similarly, Chief Ministers of all seven provinces inaugurated the Visit Year from their respective province on the same day.
